A Gage Plate having certified chamfer centers, is shipped with each VersaGage. In Preset mode, the display value should be the certified
distance when the cones are snug in the Gage Plate chamfers. To find the approximate value: place the cones into the chamfers; deduct the displayed value from the certified, and install the difference in
Preset. Check to assure the correct measurement is displayed when the cones are seated. The preset value must be reinstalled when the battery is removed. |

HOW TO INSTALL OR CHANGE THE PRESET VALUE (the value stored in memory) |
- With the display on, hold down the Preset button until the P indicator is blinking. Hold down the preset button until the P indicator stays on, a cursor is displayed undear each of the seven columns, and the
cursor under the first column blinks. Release the Preset button.
- The first column is to select a positive or negative value in memory, alternating between (+) and (-) each time the button is pressed. Absence of the minus sign indicates plus. Select plus, then hold down the
Preset button until the cursor under the next column start to blink, then release.
- For each of the six columns, every time Preset is pressed and quickly released, the column increments to the next higher number, 0 through 9. At each column, select the chosen number, then hold down the button
until the cursor under the next column blinks, then release.
- When all columns display the correct number, hold down the Preset button until the P indicator blinks. Release it, then press again. The P is gone and you are in the Preset mode with the chosen value in memory.
Presetting is now complete. Return to Home Position and again press Preset to assure entering the Preset mode with the cones touching.

How to Preserve the Accuracy and Life of Your VersaGage |
1. Keep free of water and oil. Frequently wipe the beam surface with a soft cloth treated with dry silicone spray. This will keep out
moisture.2. Do not apply any voltage to or near the instrument. Do not apply force or shock. 3. Keep away from dust, high temperatures and direct sunlight. Excessive play yields inaccurate measurements. Maintain
tight or snug fits. Contact your distributor for replacement parts. 5. Battery life is approximately one year. When the battery (SR44) is replaced, the preset value defaults to all zeros. See the Preset Section for details. |

to moving the display too fast. Restore by pressing the ON/OFF button twice.EOF: indicates value exceeds (+/-) 99.9999. Will disappear when value returns to ranges stated above. B:
indicates battery (SR44) needs replacement. See Preset Section for instructions to reinstall Preset value. |
